Where you recover matters. The physical environment of a treatment facility shapes the experience of being in it, the sense of safety, the possibility of community, the feeling that this is a place where real change can happen.
At St. Christopher's, we have spent 25 years building and refining a campus that reflects what we believe about recovery: that it requires structure and that the spaces where men do the hardest work of their lives should feel worthy of that work.
St. Christopher's is built around a recovery campus in Baton Rouge where men at every phase of treatment live, work, and grow together. Men who are thirty days sober share that space with men who are six months in, a year in, two years in. They eat together, work out together, go to meetings together, and hold each other accountable every single day.
Our programs are each designed to support clients at a specific stage of their treatment and recovery. This structure is intentional. The close clinical supervision of Chapter One gives way to the increasing accountability of Chapter Two, which gives way to the earned independence of Chapter Three. The environment changes as the work changes. It is a community where men move through their recovery together, on the same street, in the same spaces, alongside peers at every stage of the journey.
Our recovery campus is where the full arc of St. Christopher's treatment takes shape. Men from every phase of the program live and grow here together. The structure of the campus reflects the progressive nature of recovery itself. Clients in the beginning chapter of treatment have more oversight and fewer privileges. As they demonstrate stability and growth, autonomy increases. By the time a man is deep into long-term recovery, he may be mentoring someone who arrived last week, helping a newer client to a meeting, or supporting a peer through a difficult moment.
That big brother dynamic is built into the culture of the campus and reinforced every day. Men who live here are not waiting to get back to their lives. They are building them, on this campus, in this community, with people who understand exactly what that work requires.
Physical recovery is not separate from emotional and psychological recovery. It is part of the same process. St. Christopher's state-of-the-art Wellness Center, available to all enrolled clients across every chapter of the STC continuum, from the structured intensity of Chapter One through the earned independence of Chapter Three.
Under the direction of Travis Weisbrod, a certified exercise physiologist and STC alumnus, the Wellness Center offers clients access to structured fitness programming, personalized exercise guidance, and the kind of physical activity that research consistently links to improved mental health outcomes, reduced cravings, better sleep, and stronger long-term recovery. The Wellness Center is also one of the places on campus where the community is most visible. Men from every phase of treatment work out together, compete in recreational sports leagues, and build the physical health habits that carry them into the rest of their lives.
The right environment makes recovery possible. The right team makes it sustainable. Both are waiting for you at St. Christopher's.
