Why St. Christopher's

Starting as a halfway house, St. Christopher’s Addiction Wellness Center had great success assisting men in their transition from inpatient treatment centers back to life in the real world. Unfortunately, St. Christopher’s had to close its doors in 1994.

Current founder and CEO, Dwayne Beason, was a resident at the halfway house in the late 80’s and attributes his personal growth, success, and long-term sobriety to his six month stay at the house. In 1997 he attended a wedding and, looking around the room, realized there were ten men there, still sober, who had all lived in St. Christopher’s together nine years prior.

In 1998 Dwayne brought his vision to reality and reopened the doors of St. Christopher’s Addiction Wellness Center to provide help, hope, and treatment for addiction. The center has grown from an extended care facility to a center that offers detoxification, inpatient (primary) treatment, long-term treatment, sober living, aftercare, Intensive Outpatient services (men & women), and a family program for those we serve.
