Get to know our Director of Residential Services

Since Kyle Aaron began working at St. Christopher’s in 2013 as a clinical intern, he has dedicated himself to helping young men overcome their addictions and struggles in early recovery.

“I like working with people that throw curveballs at you and that may be be resistant to treatment.” He said, “it makes it all the more rewarding when they get with it, and you see the progress that they make.”

In 2007 Kyle received his Bachelor’s degree in psychology at Louisiana State University, and later received his Masters degree in counseling from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2013. During his time at St. Christopher’s, Kyle has earned promotions as residential counselor, Family Program Director and lead clinician at Residential Treatment. He became certified as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) on  March 8, 2017, as he celebrated one year as the Director of Residential Services.

As the Director of Residential Services, Kyle looks for ways to improve and refine the group curriculum. His current focus is to include more experiential elements to treatment and diversifying the ways in which counselors engage patients.

“Everybody learns differently.” He said,” If you are a visual learner, we need to have something in there that you can connect to, and if you are someone who learns by moving around, we need to give you something that you can connect to also.” (See Wellness Therapy).

At first encounter Kyle may seem like a passive guy, but when you get to know him you appreciate his passion and dedication to the therapeutic process of residential treatment and teamwork.

Fun fact about Kyle:

He ate his first peanut butter and jelly sandwich at the age of 30 years old, and he did not like it!
