Our residential program, often referred to as primary treatment, focuses on physical and emotional stabilization following the last use of mood-altering chemicals (which may include detoxification); medical, chemical dependency, and psychiatric assessment; acceptance of the addiction; identification of core issues; introduction to 12-step recovery; participation in the family week program; acquiring basic recovery skills; and working with the staff in developing plans for continuing care. |
Daily Group Counseling Therapeutic Approaches:
The Residential Program utilizes a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, medical doctors, nurses, clinical social workers, and licensed addiction professionals to help each client we serve achieve a life of recovery. Our treatment is based in the principles of 12-step recovery, cognitive-behavioral therapy, behavioral change, spiritual growth, peer support, dual diagnosis treatment, gestalt-therapies, reality therapy, motivational interviewing, emotive therapies, and utilizing our staff and alumni as role models for recovery.
We have onsite Nursing and Support staff 24 hours per day. Counselors, Therapists, and Physicians are available 24 hours per day.
What to Expect in Residential Treatment
Simply stated, our staff and programming will assist each client and family in finding a different way of life. Clients typically enter treatment with differing levels of motivation to change and a sense of what the treatment experience will offer. Most clients are not able to imagine a life without alcohol or drugs prior to treatment – and the thought of never using again (despite the obvious consequences) seems unthinkable. This is where our illness is least understood. Our program is based on complete abstinence from alcohol and drugs and it is our staff’s responsibility to allow the person to discover for himself that a life of recovery is worth having and to break the chains of addiction – but we cannot do this alone! Treatment will offer each client every opportunity, in any way possible, to commit themselves to change and a life of recovery.
